Dr Gopa Chakrabarti’s journey in music has been long, strenuous and exciting. She was a child prodigy who began performing on stage at the tender age of 8 and has not looked back since. She did not let marriage, motherhood, job transfers or change in cities ever stop her from her pursuit of excellence in music.

 

A number of India’s leading Gurus shaped her into the versatile artist she is today: someone who is equally fluent in performing classical music as she is ghazals or bhajans. She has performed all across India from Gujarat to West Bengal and from Delhi to Tamil Nadu.

It was while she was based in Bhavnagar, Gujarat that she found her calling as a Guru. A Guru Ma to hundreds of students across India, Dr Chakrabarti’s warm personality, disciplined manner of teaching, keen interest in students’ overall well-being and astute eye for talent, endears her to her pupils. She has the love and respect of past and current students whether they learn from her in-person in Mumbai or online all cross the world.
